23 Pally Durga Mandir Society accepts voluntary donations from devotees, supporters, well-wishers, members, and other individuals who wish to support the activities and objectives of the Society.

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how donation cancellations, refund requests, duplicate payments, failed transactions, and payment-related issues are handled.

1. Nature of Donations

Donations made to 23 Pally Durga Mandir Society are voluntary contributions intended to support the Society’s religious, charitable, community, temple maintenance, cultural, social, and other legitimate activities.

Once a donation has been successfully processed and received, it is generally considered a voluntary contribution to the Society.

Accordingly, donors should carefully review the donation amount and details before completing a transaction.

2. Cancellation Before Payment

If you have started the donation process but have not completed the payment, you may simply discontinue the transaction.

No cancellation request is generally required for an incomplete payment transaction.

3. Refund Requests

Because donations are voluntary contributions, refunds are generally not automatic.

However, the Society may consider a refund request in circumstances such as:

  • Duplicate payment

  • Incorrect amount caused by a technical or transaction error

  • Payment deducted from the donor’s account but the transaction was not successfully recorded by the Society

  • Unauthorised or fraudulent transaction reported promptly

  • Payment made due to an apparent technical error

  • Other exceptional circumstances considered appropriate by the Society

All refund requests are subject to verification.

4. Incorrect or Duplicate Donation

If you believe that you have:

  • Been charged twice for the same donation

  • Been charged an incorrect amount

  • Had money deducted but not received a corresponding donation acknowledgement

please contact the Society as soon as possible.

Please provide:

  • Donor name

  • Registered email address, if any

  • Mobile number

  • Donation amount

  • Date of transaction

  • Transaction/reference ID

  • Payment gateway reference, if available

  • Relevant payment confirmation or bank statement showing the transaction

Do not send your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, banking password, OTP, or other confidential payment credentials to us.

5. Refund for Failed Transactions

If your bank account or payment method has been debited but the donation transaction has failed or has not been successfully received by the Society, the payment may be subject to automatic reversal by the bank or payment gateway.

The time taken for reversal or credit depends on the relevant bank, payment network, or payment service provider.

If the amount has not been reversed within the applicable processing period, you may contact us with the transaction details so that we can investigate the matter.

6. Unauthorised Transactions

If you believe that a donation was made using your payment method without your authorisation, you should immediately contact your bank or payment provider and report the transaction.

You should also inform the Society as soon as reasonably possible.

The Society may request relevant transaction information to investigate the matter.

Refunds relating to unauthorised transactions may require verification with the relevant payment provider or financial institution.

7. Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved, it will normally be processed through the original payment method or through the payment mechanism available to the Society and payment service provider.

The time required for the refund to appear in your account may depend upon:

  • Payment gateway

  • Bank

  • Card network

  • UPI/payment network

  • Financial institution

  • Transaction type

The Society cannot guarantee a specific bank processing time where the refund is dependent on a third-party payment provider.

8. Administrative Verification

Before approving a refund, the Society may verify:

  • Donation details

  • Transaction/reference number

  • Payment status

  • Bank/payment gateway information

  • Duplicate transaction status

  • Identity or contact information reasonably necessary to prevent fraudulent refund claims

The Society reserves the right to decline a refund request where the transaction cannot be verified or where the request appears fraudulent, abusive, or unsupported.

9. Cancellation of Recurring Donations

If the website or payment gateway offers recurring or periodic donations, cancellation of future payments may be requested through the relevant payment mechanism or by contacting the Society.

Cancellation of a future recurring donation does not automatically reverse donations that have already been successfully processed.

Any refund for an already processed donation will be considered according to this policy.

10. Donations Already Utilised

Where a donation has already been allocated or utilised for legitimate Society activities, expenses, religious activities, charitable purposes, temple maintenance, or other approved purposes, the Society may not be able to reverse the contribution.

Any exceptional refund request will therefore be evaluated based on the circumstances and whether the funds remain available for reversal.

11. Tax and Donation Receipts

If a refund is approved, any donation acknowledgement or receipt associated with the refunded transaction may become invalid or require adjustment.

Where applicable, the donor is responsible for making any necessary correction to tax or financial records.

The Society does not provide individual tax advice.

12. Processing Errors

If a payment error occurs because of a technical issue, duplicate transaction, payment gateway problem, or other system error, the Society will make reasonable efforts to investigate and resolve the matter.

However, the Society is not responsible for delays caused solely by banks, payment gateways, card networks, UPI providers, internet service providers, or other third parties.

13. No Cash Refunds for Online Transactions

Refunds relating to online donations will generally be processed through the original payment method or another appropriate electronic method.

Cash refunds will ordinarily not be provided for online transactions.
